REGISTRATION NOW OPEN FOR DISCO FEVER 5K RUN HOSTED BY CHILDREN’S CANCER RECOVERY FOUNDATION ON NOVEMBER 15 IN THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS

The Woodlands, TX – July 31, 2014 – The Disco Fever 5K Run, hosted by the Children’s Cancer Recovery Foundation (CCRF), is an opportunity for participants of any age to support children and families affected by a cancer diagnosis. Held on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Rob Fleming Park at 6055 Creekside Forest Drive in The Woodlands, TX, participants are encouraged to dress in disco gear for this charity fundraiser. The Disco 5K Fun Run will begin at 4:00 p.m. and the Disco 1 Mile will start at 4:15 p.m. A costume contest will be featured and will award the best team, best individual, and best decorated wagon or stroller.

 

While the event will not occur until November, registration at a reduced rate is now available. The fee is $35 until October 31, and will go up to $40 between November 1 and November 14. Those interested can register through Crowdrise at https://www.crowdrise.com/discofever5k. On the day of the race, event registration will open at 2:00 p.m. at a fee of $50.

 

Participants are invited to stay after the race for a Disco Party and other post-race activities at Rob Fleming Park. This part of the event will begin at approximately 5:30 p.m. and will include bounce houses, a rock wall, live entertainment, a costume contest, and award-winning balloon artist Michael Crayton.

 

Packet pick-up for the race will be held on November 13 and 14 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Sports Authority, located at 19075 Interstate 45 S., Suite 105 in the Portofino Shopping Center in Shenandoah, TX. Sports Authority is one of the sponsors for the Disco Fever 5K Run. Other sponsors include Mix 96.5, inSPIRE ROCK Indoor Climbing Gym, The Woodlands Young Learners Academy, Bowlero, and Pump It Up.
